Is Finny really free?
Yes! Core features are 100% free forever: manual tracking, custom categories, spending charts, 150+ currencies, and full offline support. You also get a free AI credit to try voice, text, or receipt scanning. Finny Pro unlocks AI-powered input, Tap to Track, batch receipt scanning, and cloud sync across all your devices.
Do I need to create an account?
Nope. Just download and start tracking. No email, no signup, no friction. You only need to sign in with Apple if you want to use AI features or cloud sync.
Is my financial data safe?
Absolutely. Finny never connects to your bank. All data stays on your device by default. If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored securely in the cloud. No financial data is shared with third parties.
Does it work offline?
Yes! Finny works completely offline for manual tracking. Exchange rates and cloud sync update when you reconnect.
Can I track multiple currencies?
Yes! Finny supports 150+ currencies. Each transaction stays in the currency you paid in, while your daily and monthly totals auto-convert to your home currency. No mental math, no lost amounts, perfect for travelers and expats.
What is Tap to Track?
Tap to Track lets you automatically log Apple Pay purchases. After paying, just tap your phone to the card reader and Finny captures the details instantly, with no typing and without opening the app. It's a Pro feature that uses one AI credit per tap.
How does AI input work?
Three ways: type naturally ("coffee $5"), speak your expenses hands-free, or scan receipts by photo. You can even scan up to 5 receipts at once or import transactions from banking screenshots. AI extracts the details, and you review before saving.
Is the 50 AI requests limit daily or monthly?
Daily. Finny Pro includes 50 AI requests every day, and the count resets at midnight in your local time zone. You start each new day with a fresh 50.
What counts as an AI request?
Each AI-powered action uses 1 request: a Tap to Track transaction from Apple Pay, a message in the AI chat (typed or spoken), a receipt scan, or a banking screenshot scan. Logging entries manually, editing, or browsing your history doesn't use any.
What if I run out before the day ends?
You'll see a notice that the daily limit is reached, and AI features pause until midnight, when the count resets. Your subscription continues uninterrupted, so all your other Finny Pro features keep working.
Does Finny sync across devices?
Yes! Finny Pro includes cloud sync so your transactions stay up to date across all your Apple devices. You can also export your data to CSV anytime.
Can I import or export my data?
Yes. Export all your transactions to CSV for spreadsheets or backups, and import from CSV files. Finny Pro also lets you scan banking or e-wallet screenshots to batch-import transactions.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
You keep everything. All your synced data, custom categories, and custom payment methods stay on your device, with nothing deleted or locked. You just lose access to Pro features like AI input and cloud sync going forward.
